LEARNING BECAME MORE INTERESTING .

For this week, our class become more interesting. i do not have to pay to go to other special class since fellow friend here were kind enough to share a lot of important knowledge. my interest toward ICT had increased lately...

6. MovieMaker (Group 5)

Windows Movie Maker (formerly known as Windows Live Movie Maker, codenamed Sundance[3]) is a freeware video editing software by Microsoft. It is a part of Windows Essentials software suite and offers the ability to create and edit videos as well as to publish them on SkyDrive, Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr.

here, i want to share something with you. 10 steps to use movie maker.

  1. Open your file or movie. Then click “Import video”; it will take a few moments to import, depending on the file size and how long that clip is.
     2.  Click and drag the different sets of clips you've shot down to the Storyboard, which is
located at the bottom of the window.

    3.   Add video effects. Click “Video Effects” on the left side of the window. Drag what effect
you  want and put it the star in the corner of the Clip.

    4.  Add transitions. Select the “View Video Transitions” from the left panel. Drag them
down  to  the “Storyboard”, but put them in the middle box. You can view the transitions
by clicking on  them and watching them on the screen to the left.

    5.  Add music or cut short the clips by clicking the “Timeline” also at the bottom of the
         screen.

   6.   When you want to cut some time from the Clip, click the half triangle at the side of the
clip, and then you can move how long you want the scene.

  7.    Mute the camera if you're going to make a music video; you don’t want anyone to hear
that part, just the music. Then, go to “Import Audio or Music” select a song. Then drag it
down to the “TimeLine” You can also cut time or make a short sound from clicking the
triangle and dragging to make it as long as you want, you can have just one word, chorus
        or just the whole song.
 8.   Add title or credits by clicking on the appropriate link on the left panel. To add credits,
there is a big empty bar on the form; you should put either the title of the movie, or
       credits.

 9.  Click the view “timeline” and you should see the time line with the song, the title, the clips,
      and the effects and transitions.

10.  Click “Save to my computer” or if you have a CD/DVD you could also save it to that, and
it  should again, take a few moments to save, then you are done with your movie

7. Microsoft One Note

Your go-to notebook. No need to leave out any useful ideas. Gather typed and handwritten notes, links, web pages, sketches, and videos and other media and assemble it in one handy place.
Embed files. Insert pictures, documents, videos, and more right into your notes, so all of the info you need is just a click away. If you insert an Excel spreadsheet, you’ll get a preview of charts and diagrams right next to your notes. When you update the Excel file, your preview is automatically updated too.

Inking. Enjoy the freedom to take notes your way. Be creative with Inking—smoothly draw, erase, and edit with your finger, stylus, or mouse. If you’d rather write than type, OneNote can convert your handwriting into text.
Tables. Explore tables and charts. Now you can make your own table headers and quickly move rows and columns. If you want to convert a table in your notes to a chart or to an Excel spreadsheet to do advanced calculation, all it takes is one click.

8. CamStudio

A free screen recording software. This programme is very good. It help me a lot, especially during video making. This software is very easy to use. consumer-friendly.

CamStudio is able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)
Here are just a few ways you can use this software:
  • You can use it to create demonstration videos for any software program
  • Or how about creating a set of videos answering your most frequently asked questions?
  • You can create video tutorials for school or college class
  • You can use it to record a recurring problem with your computer so you can show technical support people
  • You can use it to create video-based information products you can sell
  • You can even use it to record new tricks and techniques you discover on your favourite software program, before you forget them

10 REASONS WHY WE SHOULD SMILE TODAY

1. Smiling Makes Us Attractive

We are drawn to people who smile. There is an attraction factor. We want to know a smiling person and figure out what is so good. Frowns, scowls and grimaces all push people away -- but a smile draws them in (avoid these smile aging habits to keep your smile looking great).

2. Smiling Changes Our Mood

Next time you are feeling down, try putting on a smile. There's a good chance you mood will change for the better. Smiling can trick the body into helping you change your mood.

3. Smiling Is Contagious

When someone is smiling they lighten up the room, change the moods of others, and make things happier. A smiling person brings happiness with them. Smile lots and you will draw people to you.

4. Smiling Relieves Stress

Stress can really show up in our faces. Smiling helps to prevent us from looking tired, worn down, and overwhelmed. When you are stressed, take time to put on a smile. The stress should be reduced and you'll be better able to take action.

5. Smiling Boosts Your Immune System

Smiling helps the immune system to work better. When you smile, immune function improves possibly because you are more relaxed. Prevent the flu and colds by smiling.

6. Smiling Lowers Your Blood Pressure

When you smile, there is a measurable reduction in your blood pressure. Give it a try if you have a blood pressure monitor at home. Sit for a few minutes, take a reading. Then smile for a minute and take another reading while still smiling. Do you notice a difference?

7. Smiling Releases Endorphins, Natural Pain Killers and Serotonin

Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug.

8. Smiling Lifts the Face and Makes You Look Younger

The muscles we use to smile lift the face, making a person appear younger. Don't go for a face lift, just try smiling your way through the day -- you'll look younger and feel better.

9. Smiling Makes You Seem Successful

Smiling people appear more confident, are more likely to be promoted, and more likely to be approached. Put on a smile at meetings and appointments and people will react to you differently.

10. Smiling Helps You Stay Positive

Try this test: Smile. Now try to think of something negative without losing the smile. It's hard. When we smile our body is sending the rest of us a message that "Life is Good!" Stay away from depression, stress and worry by smiling.

 Everyone needs a smile!!!

What is engage, empower and enhance?

My friends and i cracking our brain to about what to do in this a

What is actually engage, empower and enhance?

  Engage :

A method that elicit students's idea from their prior knowledge. Teachers may elicit their ideas through a few questions so that teachers could know the level of the students and where should they begin to teach the students. It creates a two ways communication between teachers and students where students may share their knowledge besides the teacher does. This engage is the method that used to attract student's attention. Through the question or picture given, the teacher will elicit students idea on that particular topic. This enable the teachers to know about the prior knowledge which the students possesses on the particular topic.Other than that, engage will help students in the process of think and give the idea about the question.

Empower :

A method where experiment is conducted in a more systematic way and less time consuming to increase student's knowledge and understanding on particular topic. Practical is important for them to expose themselves in the real situation and they understand better about the scientific concepts. In empower, teachers will prepare some questions from the easiest to the hardest for the students to answer so that they might empower their knowledge.

Enhance :

A way to improve the students understanding by asking them to think in a greater depth in order to answer the enhance  section. It is a another method same as the engage but the difference is that enhance is the application of the knowledge. Students have to relate the scientific concept to the daily life so that they really understand the topics. They have to think creatively and critically when answer the question provided

CHEMSKETCH

6. CHEMSKETCH

ChemSketch is a chemical structure drawing program developed by ACD/Labs. Among other features, ChemSketch has the ability to:
  • Draw and view structures in 2D, or render in 3D to view from any angle
  • Draw reactions and reaction schemes, and calculate reactant quantities
  • Generate structures from InChI and SMILES strings
  • Generate IUPAC systematic names for molecules of up to 50 atoms and 3 ring structures
  • Predict logP for individual structures
  • Search for structures in the built-in dictionary of over 165,000 systematic, trivial, and trade names
ChemSketch uses many standard file formats for the import and export of drawings. The full list of available file formats can be found here, under the link "standard file formats." The program allows the user to draw chemical structures including organics, organometallics, polymers, and Markush structures.
Users can download a freeware version of the software on the ACD/Labs website. The full version of the software is also available for purchase.

By using chemsketch all work, exercise, practice problem for student can be done within short time. No more of using "manually" drawing inside Microsoft word. Beside that, it work best when come to draw molecular structure for organic compound. On the other hand, drawing apparatus for chemistry laboratory will be so much fun.

These are sample of drawing done in chemsketch.

An illustration of organic compound in skeletal form and a chemical equation

Apparatus setting for titration experiment.

Apparatus setting for saponication process
A sketch of orbital shape in an atom

An energy profile diagram for endothermic reaction.

MICROSOFT PUBLISHER

On 23/3/2013-

MICROSOFT PUBLISHER.
I have learn to use Microsoft publisher. By using this programmer, i would be able to simple brochure, banner for announcement or even create a page for advertisement. During this class, i have to come up with a brochure. In this brochure, i have decide to advertise a free class on how to use chemsketch.

Publisher is included in higher-end editions of Microsoft Office, reflecting Microsoft's emphasis on the application as an easy-to-use and less expensive alternative to the "heavyweights," with a focus on the small business market where firms do not have dedicated design professionals available to make marketing materials and other documents However, it has a relatively small share of the desktop publishing market, which is dominated by Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress.Publisher has historically been less well liked among high-end commercial print shops, compared with other desktop publishing applications.

5. MICROSOFT PUBLISHER

In Microsoft Office 2007, while most of Microsoft Office apps adopted ribbons in their user interface, Publisher retained its toolbars and did not adopt ribbons until next version, 2010.

This is my brochure. Still half way done. I'll download the complete one later on.

Microsoft Publisher includes a library of color schemes you can use to ensure your publications are well-designed and professional. The software offers a large selection of "building blocks" that can be dragged into your documents, helping you to create page elements such as calendars, newsletter sidebars and borders. Publisher integrates mail merge features, which is handy when you need to send publications to a list of customers, and it is possible to export publications as HTML Web pages or PDF documents.

Microsoft Publisher is a desktop publishing software application capable of producing greeting cards, certificates, newsletters and other printed publications. The software comes complete with a wide range of pre-installed document templates, with more available free of charge for download from Microsoft's online service.

WHY YOU ARE A FAILURE IN CHEMISTRY?

  • skipping class and getting the notes from friends.
  •  showing up for class only on the quiz days.
  • showing for quiz and then leaving.

  • copying someone else's work.
  • thinking that you can understand the material without working lots of problems.
  • putting off studying until the night before the exam.
  • dissappear form classs after getting one good grades.
  •  expecting to be able to catch up after missing much of the semester.
  • expecting to be allowed to do an extra credit project to salvage a failing grade.
  • expecting the teachers not to count all the quizzess or homework you missed.
  • expecting to pass even if you have all failing grades.

  • thinking that you don't need the prerequisites.

SECRETS OF STRAIGHT-A STUDENTS

They aren't always more intelligent but they do work smarter. Here's how.

1. Set Priorities:
There is no intrusion on study time. No phone calls, no TV, snacks are ignored.
Study is business; business comes before recreation.

2. Study anywhere-or everywhere:
Study at work or at play. However, there is for consistency. Maintain the same time slot everyday
    for studying.

TOP 10 QUALITIES OF A GOOD TEACHER....

1. Confidence.
Belief in ourselves despite setbacks. Teachers encounter situations all the time that could be considered setbacks. Kids can be cruel, to each other and to teachers. They can have attitudes, especially teenagers. The best teachers laughed off their mistakes because a teacher is al s human and knew mistakes happen.

2. Patience.
A good teacher is willing to keep explaining, knowing that eventually it would make sense. They were willing to wait until a distraction calmed students down, or abandon a lesson entirely if it was clear material needed to be revisited. The best teachers just stuck with it, willing to do what it took, no matter how long it took.

PICASA !!!!!

4. Picasa

Picasa is an image organizer and image viewer for organizing and editing digital photos, plus an integrated photo-sharing website, originally created by a company named Lifescape (which at that time may have resided at Idealab) in 2002 and owned by Google since 2004. "Picasa" is a blend of the name of Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, the phrase mi casa (Spanish for "my house") and "pic" for pictures (personalized art). In July 2004, Google acquired Picasa from its original author and began offering it as freeware.

Picasa uses is similar to adobe photoshop, photoscape and any software use for photo editing. As an additional feature, it can also be used to create simple movie. Almost similar function as movie maker by microsoft.

This is a sample project done by me using picasa. A collages of pictures. It is quite interesting and user friendly software. Photo editing became easier using Picasa. movie create by me can be directed post at youtube.

i also want to share with you.... 6 steps to use picasa...

1. Download the latest version of Picasa.
2. Double click on a photo to take you to the editing window.
3. Learn what each button in the "Basic" editing box does.

PLAN TO LEARN CHEMISTRY FAST

The first step is to determine exactly how long you have to learn chemistry. You'll need a lot more discipline to learn chemistry in a day compared with a week or a month. Also, keep in mind you won't have great retention if you cram chemistry in a day or a week. Ideally you want a month or longer to master any course. If you do end up cramming chemistry, expect to review the material if you need to apply it to a higher level chemistry course or remember it for a test further down the road.

TEACH MY GRANDSON, TEACHER

To all fellows teacher, here is something from grandpa:

Teach My Grandson Teacher - Gently, If You Can

My grandson starts school today. It's going to be strange and new to him for a while, and I wish you would sort of treat him gently.
You see, up to now, he's been king of the roost -- he's been boss of the backyard.
His mom, dad, and Grandma have always been around to repair his wounds, and soothe his feelings.

But now things are going to be different! This morning he's going to walk down the front steps, wave his hand, and start out on a great adventure... it's an adventure that might take him across the continent... it's an adventure that might include wars and strategy and sorrow.

To live his live in this world, will require faith and love and courage.
So teacher, I pray you will take him by his young hand and teach him the things he will have to know.

MY TEACHING PHILOSHOPY

This I believe:-

When I choose to teach, I choose to serve; that every child is entitled to the best I have to give, regardless of his personality, or his situation; that my discipline should firm, consistent and constructive.

I should remember that kindness, consideration and trust are not sign of weaknesses in a teacher. I should remember that children are hurt by the same things that hurt me, sarcasm and ridicule.

I should not exact higher standard of product in matters of punctuality, responsibility and self-control that me myself possess;

I should remember that I have limitless opportunities to touch lives for good and I should treat every child as if he were my very own.

A NEW EXPERIENCEs..

3. CREATE A BLOG.

I have learn on how to create a blog. I never imagine i would bother to have a blog.As i thought  before, blogging is  a new experience and seem fun. Quite confusing when come to decorating my blog.

Blogs are usually (but not always) written by one person and are updated pretty regularly. Blogs are often (but not always) written on a particular topic – there are blogs on virtually any topic you can think of. From photography, to spirituality, to recipes, to personal diaries to hobbies – blogging has as many applications and varieties as you can imagine. Whole blog communities have sprung up around some of these topics putting people into contact with each other in relationships where they can learn, share ideas, make friends with and even do business with people with similar interests from around the world.

When I write a post like this one it goes to the top of the front page. As it gets older and as I add more current posts it begins its journey down the page until it disappears from it. This is not the end of its life however, because it goes into the ‘Archives’ of my blog

i think i can share a few tips from my experience of becoming a new blogger.

A blog (a portmanteau of the term web log) is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appears first). Until 2009 blogs were usually the work of a single individual, occasionally of a small group, and often covered a single subject.

How to Create a Blog Site

Step 1: Choose which software you want to use to manage your blog

There are 3 popular FREE blogging tools we recommend: Wordpress, TextPattern, and Nucleus.

Step 2: Find a host that supports your chosen software

Step 3: Choose a theme for your blog

Step 4: Start blogging!

4 WEEKS LATER....

After 4 week of learning ICT in chemistry , the first thing that i learnt about was how to fully used google drive an online and offline storage system. It actually can be back up files if somehow my hard disk blown. The best thing is, it's free. But, by storage any important files such national security is not recommended because it still can be hacked. By using google drive, i can access my files from almost everywhere, as long as there is an internet access. I don't have to a pen drive or any storage device.
